JOB OVERVIEW
The Technical Services lead serves external and internal customers and is responsible for the supervision, setup, distribution, operation and maintenance of electrical power distribution, internet connectivity that includes wireless applications, telephone connectivity, cable TV, and a variety of telecom and non-licensed electrical maintenance throughout Meydenbauer Center. A high level of customer service is required with this position as he/she has direct contact with our clients. At times, the Technical Services Supervisor may be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Trains all Technical Services employees on duties, responsibilities, and safety. Directly participates in employee work evaluations.
• Supervises up part-time Utility Services Technicians.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Ensures a positive and cooperative work environment within the department. Schedules, plans, directs, and supervises the work performed by the department technicians.
• Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade internal digital infrastructure and related equipment, enterprise wireless and peripherals.
• Attends employee and event planning meetings.
• Interacts with clients, guests, and department managers/supervisors to ensure a safe and secure event atmosphere.
• Monitors demand power feeds to equipment and ensures all safety regulations are being followed.
• Recognizes safety rule infractions and takes immediate corrective action when necessary.
• Operates a forklift and scissor jack and other event related equipment when needed.
• Maintains and operates the facility PBX system.
• Leads the technical department inventory and maintenance program.
• Maintains clean, neat, safe and organized work and storage areas.
• Leads special projects that involve building or assembling equipment.
• Leads the ongoing development of standard operating procedures for the department.
• Leads and/or operates "service desk" for tradeshows, greeting guests and processing their electrical orders.
• Often acts as the sole onsite technical services representative for the event.
• Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade internal digital infrastructure and related equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Five years professional experience in general electrical equipment setup, trouble shooting, operation and maintenance.
• Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
• Previous customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Performs all duties in a professional, productive manner with emphasis on client satisfaction, to ensure successful operation of Meydenbauer Center.
• Knowledge of the principles and theories covering distribution of temporary electrical power, computer networking, telephony and other technical services equipment and systems.
• Knowledge of safety practices and requirements relative to equipment used in facilities and public assemblies.
• Knowledge of computer administrator roles and software installation protocols.
• Ability to calculate amps, watts, and volts.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
