Job Details
General Job Duties : Perform quality CT exams, able to perform all procedures offered by department and competent and willing to learn new.
Perform actual scan times that are favorable with benchmark and team standard.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with patient, physician, patient's family, students, and other healthcare personnel.
Perform QA. Help to ensure department is stocked accordingly and in compliance with standards.
Procedures : Neuro, Body, MSK, CTAs, IR procedures to include biopsies, ablations, drain removals, etc; 3D reformats, colonography, enterography, urograms; trauma scans; dual energy understanding.
Current ARRT certification in computed tomography and radiography.
State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer License required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Schedule Information
Employee will not every work alone, always one other staff member there.
Call is part of some of the shifts, it is 1 overnight every 9 week days (Monday-Friday) and 1 weekend every 13 weekends.
Unit Specific Information
6 week orientation for outside candidates to include various locations, assigned preceptor to ensure consistency with education and communication of protocols.
IV line education as well as phone numbers, and department specific processes included in the process.
Mid-point check at 3 weeks to gain an understanding of progress or areas that need more work.
