Summary of Duties: Responsible for being the first person to greet and welcome our patients. Job requires answering telephone, scheduling and confirming appointments, triaging and directing calls, greeting patients and making them feel comfortable. Job will also include securing new patient information and confirming information with existing patients. Job will also include answering patient/insurance billing questions by phone or in person, providing explanation of benefits (EOB) copies, as necessary, to file additional insurance.
Supervision: Reports to Practice Administrator/Doctor
1. Greets patients and makes patients feel comfortable.
2. Responsible for answering telephone, scheduling appointments, triaging and directing calls.
3. Obtains name of caller and appropriate information.
4. Chart entry including patient demographics and medical history
5. Secures new patient information, referrals, imaging for consultations and confirms existing patient information.
6. Copies insurance cards and license.
7. Keeps waiting room appearance neat, clean, and attractive.
8. Schedules and confirms appointments with necessary information for obtaining treatment plan the day of the consultation
9. Obtain and review patient’s insurance information and confirms benefits with insurance companies as needed, and inputs into patient’s chart
10. Processes and upload online patient registration
11. Confirms patient appointments and contacts dental office for x-rays and referrals as needed.
12. Pulls charts, x-rays and referrals, making sure stents, flippers, dentures, etc., are here for upcoming appointment.
13. Filing, uses the fax, copier, and telephone correctly
14. Assists with updating patient demographics and insurance information on patient accounts.
15. Helps answer patient billing and insurance questions in person or by telephone.
16. Performs other duties as directed by the Practice Administrator and Doctor.

· Ability to perform physical tasks of job, including but not limited to lifting 20 pound boxes and bending over
