What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign Language Interpreter position at Bellevue Public Schools?
Applications are being accepted for a 6.5 hour per day Sign Language Interpreter position at Bellevue Public Schools. The Sign Language Interpreter works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The Sign Language Interpreter facilitates communication between the student, peers, and school staff. In addition, they assist students in acquiring skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher. Duties include supervising and interpreting for students both one on one and when needed assisting the teacher in the classroom. Duties also include assisting in the lunchroom, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building. Required qualifications are that the applicant not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others with or without reasonable accommodations, and must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position assigned and for the duration of the assignment. This position is subject to a veterans preference. Duty hours are typically Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
