- Prep and assist in diagnostic, medical, and surgical procedures.
- Preform laboratory test and radiographs.
- Operate and maintain hospital equipment - IV pumps, EKG, scales, laboratory machines, anesthetic monitors and machines.
- Assist veterinarian in anesthetizing animals and monitoring during surgeries.
- Properly restrain/handle dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
- Fill prescriptions and administer medications.
- Pull blood - cephalic and jugular.
- Place IV and urinary catheters.
- Interact with clients and animals while collecting medical information.
- Maintain cleanliness in exam rooms and cages after each patient.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary surgery area and equipment.
- Communicate and approach job duties in a mature manner.
- Able to handle all sizes of animals and temperaments in a calm and professional manner.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, patience, and communicate effectively.
- Expected to work some weekends and holidays - no exceptions.
- Degree or certification not required but preferred.
- Work experience preferred but not required - will train.
- Must be 18 years or older.
