JOB DESCRIPTION
College & Career Advisor
The role of a secondary College & Career Advisor in Bellville ISD is to nurture the development of our young
students' post-secondary aspirations and creating a successful path forward for each individual so that each
student in BISD has the means necessary to successfully pursue life outcomes aligned to his/her individual
interests and aptitudes. This position is unique in that it is entirely funded by our Bellville ISD Education
Foundation. This role only exists with the ongoing financial support of the Bellville ISD Education
Foundation. The individual assuming this position is accountable for affecting the desired outcomes of the
District and the Foundation. There is a great deal of autonomy in this role balanced with equitable
accountability for providing avenues for successful life outcomes for all BISD students.
Reports to: Campus Principal and the President of the Bellville ISD Education Foundation
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Location: Bellville High School Campus
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Required
Three Years of Teaching Experience Preferred
Knowledge of College Admissions Processes, Career Certification Requirements, and Military Enlistment
Strong Organizational, Communication, and Interpersonal skills
- Effectively organize and facilitate creation of 1:1 Personal Graduation Plans with all incoming 8th grade
students to design a path to graduate college, career, or military ready and are equipped to attainment
of post-secondary aspirations;
- Effectively communicate with students and parents regarding college admission processes and
- Provide support/organize opportunities for support for students and parents in completing college
completion;
- Facilitate opportunities for test preparation for college admissions including but not limited to TSIA,
- Organize and facilitate opportunities for college and career exploration including site visits to colleges,
- Plan, develop, and host opportunities for students to explore post-secondary options including but not
- Maintain data related to post-secondary pursuits and attainment of Bellville ISD graduates;
- Create and leverage a strong Bellville ISD Alumni Network;
- Connect BISD learners with post-secondary college, career, and military opportunities;
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required;
- Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district;
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors;
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents;
- Work collaboratively with BHS Administrators, Counselors, and BISD Leaders;
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community leaders;
- Participate in the district staff development;
- Develop a professional network of individuals representative college, trade, and industry;
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible;
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required;
- Attend and provide reports to the Bellville ISD Education Foundation as requested;
- Any other assignments deemed appropriate by the building principal;

COMPENSATION:
$60,000
DATE TO ASSUME DUTIES:
Employment Term July 1, 2025
NOTE: This position will be issued a Non-Chapter 21 Contract limited to a 11 month term and is not
guaranteed for annual renewal. Renewal will be based on the availability of funds from the Bellville ISD
Education Foundation to support provisions for the position.
