About the Role
The Temporary Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for assembling subcomponents of Bellwethers innovative all-electric coffee roaster and collaborating with the Manufacturing team to meet weekly production / assembly goals.
Location & Details
This role is full time, Monday through Friday, for up to 3 months, with the potential for full time hire.
It is located in Berkeley CA.
Primary Responsibilities
Partner with manufacturing team members to build Bellwether electric coffee roasters
Responsible for building subassemblies
Assemble parts and / or re-working parts as needed for production line
Testing and checking for quality
Maintenance of roasters used by our Coffee & R&D teams
Cross training and assisting team wherever needed
Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assemblies to specification
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Maintain a high level of quality and safety in a fast-paced work environment
Disassembling as needed
Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
Two or more years related experience in hardware / automotive / aviation / aerospace / machinery manufacturing environment
Ability to read detailed OMS, Work Instructions, diagrams and schematics
Experience with hand tools, electrical / electronics, crimping, connectorizing and other related operations
Working knowledge of computers and basic applications
English proficiency, written and verbal
Strong communication, attention to detail / accuracy, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
Team player with ability to thrive in a quickly-evolving, fast-paced environment
Skills Developed in this Role
Welding, Re-Work, Electronics, Grinding / Cutting, ISO Soldering Certification
Confidence in proper tool identification and ability to use in the most efficient manner
Gaining assembly speed
Torque specifications and proper use
Discernment about tooling, re-work, parts and resources
Physical Demands
The demands included below are required and necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Bellwether will make reasonable accommodations to enable people with diverse abilities to perform these essential functions.
Ability to lift, bend, stand, squat, and kneel for several periods of time during an 8 hour shift
Frequent use of hands for grasping, turning and fine manipulation
Must be able to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 80 lbs occasionally
At times employee will be required to walk between various areas of the facility subject to temp and humidity changes : office, lab and manufacturing
