The Job
Responsible for receiving, reviewing, processing, direct/indirect unsecured and secured consumer loans, home equity lines of credit and manufactured loans. They will be a back-up for processing & underwriting secondary market conforming real estate loans. In addition, recommending non-conforming real estate loan decisions to AVP/VP of Lending. Develops and maintains strong and effective communications with direct (front line staff) and indirect (auto & mobile home) relationships that have been established by the credit union. Consistently meet or exceed the direct/indirect lending standards & loan goals. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our consumer lending polices and procedures.
Key Priorities Include
- Lending Authority to be assigned; must be able to lend at a Level 4 or 5
- Process and approve or deny all direct/indirect consumer loan, home equity lines of credit, and manufactured loan applications within the guidelines set in the lending policy and procedures in a timely, efficient manner.
- Back-up for processing and underwriting conforming mortgage loan within the secondary market conforming real estate loans. Will make recommendation for all non-conforming mortgage loans to AVP/VP of Lending.
- Develop and maintain strong communications with both direct (front line staff) & indirect dealer relationships (auto & mobile home) that have been established by the credit union.
- Review, approve or deny loans presented by underwriters with lower lending level authorities.
- Must meet registration requirements under the SAFE ACT to obtain appropriate federal and state registration and licensing.
- Routinely handles ancillary lending projects.
- A thorough understanding of consumer and real estate loan policies and procedures.
- Understands and complies with all applicable regulations.
- Represent BCCU in a professional and responsible manner at all times.
- All other duties as required.
Job Specifications
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for interviewing loan applicants and projecting a positive image as representative of the Credit Union.
- Work requires extensive knowledge of most Credit Union products and services. Excellent interpersonal skills. Self motivated and capable of working independently. Intermediate computer skills including, but not limited to, Windows, Word, Excel, and a thorough understanding of software utilized by BCCU.
- Intermediate mathematical skill required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
- Position requires sitting the majority of the day. May have to lift up to 30 pounds. Flexible hours/days may be required, but a minimum of 40 hours/week are expected to be devoted to fulfilling and/or exceeding the goals of the position.
- Experience using Mortgagebot & Arc OS is a plus.
