What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entertainment GL Claims Manager TPA position at Bellwether Staffing Solutions?
We are currently recruiting for an Entertainment and GL Manager (AVP level) in Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid in-office 2 days). The Manager to oversee Entertainment and specific GL Program third-party administered claims. Must have experience managing TPAs. 110K – 135K Base Bonus Benefits Package
- Provide authority and technical claims guidance to TPA’s to resolve all levels of Auto, GL, and WC claims. Fully review all evaluations, analyze the policy/endorsements and coverage issue(s); challenge the assumptions made by the TPA when necessary.
- Conduct periodic audits of TPA-managed claims to ensure compliance with technical aspects of claim handling and TPA oversight (Coverage, Investigation, Reserving, Litigation Management, Resolution, Diary and File Management).
- Ensure TPA’s adhere to Best Practices to achieve consistently fair, prompt, and professional claim handling standards.
- Manage costs and scope of work to ensure TPA’s and external partners are meeting contractual service level agreements.
- Ensure TPA’s retain panel counsel when necessary; if non-panel counsel is required, authority of retention from your manager and negotiate rates per standard within the jurisdiction; document non-panel retention spreadsheet.
- Serve as point of contact with Entertainment Underwriters and external partners/brokers to resolve customer service questions.
- Accurately document claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authorities.
- Manages and tracks TPA loss runs on a monthly basis to ensure that claim financials are accurate and properly reconciled, in conjunction with US Claims Operations.
- Represents Claims in the monthly Entertainment Underwriting meetings.
- Provide actuary reserving data in order to manage loss development and IBNR.
- Identify emerging exposures and claims trends, including preparation of materials for key leadership meetings, and attend meetings as a presenter when requested.
- Complete special projects and assignments as assigned by the Vice President. Represent Claims as needed (i.e. serve as back-up, preparation and participation in Claim leadership meetings, strategy planning, etc.).
- Partner with Property and GL Bodily Injury to assist in managing the Entertainment book.
- Monitor and analyze key operational performance indicators and, work with Actuarial, Finance and Compliance teams, to determine appropriate interventions to variance.
- Assist the Vice President in a leadership capacity in creating and communicating a clear vision to the staff that motivates them to drive for results and ensures alignment with the broader business vision, strategy and goals. In addition, improve bench strength by identifying and developing key talent.
- Represent Property & Casualty beyond the direct responsibilities, playing a key role in driving the P&C strategic initiatives: Expense Management, Operational/Technical Excellence, Employee Engagement and Customer Service.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of multi-line claims handling experience (preferably General Liability, Auto, and Workers Compensation)
- B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University preferred
- Proven ability to positively affect complex claims outcomes through investigation, negotiation and effectively leading litigation
- Experience in managing and directing TPAs with advanced knowledge of coverage within entertainment
- Advanced knowledge of litigation process and negotiation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced analytical and leadership skills
Must be local and in commutable range to Scottsdale, AZ (Hybrid in-office 2 days). No sponsorship. Must be a US citizen or green card holder (permanent resident).
Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
