We are currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant in Norwalk, CT (In-office 5 days) for a rapidly growing company. The Accountant will assist in maintaining financial records, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and oversee accounts receivable (AR) functions while being flexible in supporting various accounting tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to take on diverse accounting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. 75K – 85K Base Benefits Package
Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts.
- Work with the finance team to analyze variances and ensure financial accuracy.
- Accounts Receivable (AR) & Revenue Recognition
- Manage customer invoicing, payment applications, and collections.
- Ensure accurate recording of Order My Gear (OMG) transactions and deferred revenue recognition.
- Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
- Work closely with the sales team to resolve customer billing issues and improve cash collections.
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and COGS analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls.
- Assist with audit requests and lender reporting requirements.
- Support the CPA firm in reviewing 2024 financials as per lender covenants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Procurement) on financial data accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years of accounting experience (experience in AR, month-end close, and financial reporting preferred).
- Experience with NetSuite is a strong plus (or similar ERP system).
- Financial Modeling know-how a strong plus (Excel forecasting, etc)
- Strong understanding of GAAP, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
