Position Summary

Belmont Abbey College invites applications for the current position of Director of Admissions, a full-time, twelve-month position.

Job Responsibilities

The Director of Admissions will partner with the Vice Provost of Enrollment (VPE) and the Admissions team in advancing our distinctive Catholic and Benedictine mission. This dynamic leader will spearhead our undergraduate enrollment initiatives while elevating the College’s presence in an evolving higher education landscape. Leading a dedicated and talented admissions team, the Director will provide hands-on guidance and mentorship while embodying our cherished Benedictine charism of hospitality in every prospective student interaction. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight and collaborative energy to our recruitment efforts, working closely with campus partners to attract students who will thrive in our unique academic community. We seek an educational leader who can compellingly present the transformative value of our education while driving innovative enrollment strategies to achieve our goals.

As a key enrollment leader, the Director of Admissions will orchestrate comprehensive recruitment strategies while managing the daily activities of our dynamic admissions department. This role demands seasoned oversight of crucial enrollment functions and funnel management from prospect through enrollment, while making use of strategic data management through TargetX Salesforce to provide critical insights and data-driven action steps. The Director works collaboratively with several admissions teams as well as vendors, central marketing, financial aid, premier scholarship programs, and other academic partners. Additionally, the Director provides thoughtful leadership for the admissions counselors, territory management, key communication needs, departmental workflows, innovative recruitment approaches, and funnel management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree – masters preferred. The ideal candidate must have at least three years (5 years preferred) of progressively responsible experience in recruitment and enrollment management. Knowledge of recruitment, marketing, funnel management, financial aid practices, and territory management. Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, must be comfortable with public speaking and supervision of the admissions team. Candidate must have proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, an enrollment CRM (Salesforce preferred). Must have the ability to lead and motivate others.

In addition, candidates must wholeheartedly embrace the mission of the College to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate skills, attitudes, and stable disposition of character to support our Catholic and Benedictine identity while fostering the development of mind, body, and spirit in our students, our staff and the greater community. Finally, candidates must have a sincere appreciation and acceptance of our Catholic approach to education and an understanding of Pope Saint John Paul II’s Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
