Position Summary:
The Radiology Program Director is primarily responsible for the overall operation of the entire radiology program, ensuring compliance with JRCERT standards. The director oversees ongoing program accreditation and assessment processes.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversees all aspects of the Radiology program to ensure effective program operation that is in compliance with JRCERT standards and requirements.
- Knowledgeable in the JRCERT Standards and provides upkeep of accreditation requirements and awards.
- Participates in the hiring, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff including orienting and mentoring all new faculty (including adjuncts) to the teaching responsibilities in the Radiology Program and in the clinical setting.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the program curriculum, including didactic and clinical components.
- Coordinates, implements, evaluates, and maintains the program assessment plan and assimilates recommendations for continuous program improvement.
- Secure and/or renew and maintain clinical affiliation agreements with approved clinical sites.
- Maintains radiology equipment registration and safety standards in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health.
- Oversees accreditation data analysis, record-keeping, preparation, maintenance, and reporting as required by the JRCERT.
- Participates in the program budget planning, ensuring all pertinent educational supplies are included and accounted for.
- Facilitates contracts with radiology equipment services companies, as well as equipment oversight, service, and replacement requirements.
- Maintain program enrollment through marketing strategies in accordance with JRCERT requirements.
- Serve as the Individual Responsible for Radiation Protection by maintaining radiation protection guidelines and procedures and student/staff compliance with said guidelines.
- Maintain medical dosimetry devices, analysis of dosimetry reports, and record-keeping and distribution of dosimetry reporting.
- Maintains accurate and thorough records of student information to include attendance, classroom and laboratory progress, and clinical progress.
- Maintains and distributes student clinical site documentation to include federal and state criminal background testing, drug testing, and vaccination record documentation through the use of the Castlebranch platform.
- Carefully selects students accepted into the program through review of ranking criteria information/data.
- Schedules and attends regularly scheduled faculty and program assessment meetings.
- Schedules and attends yearly program advisory committee meetings.
- Serves as a mentor to all radiology students, recognizing individual differences and adapting accordingly.
- Encourages and motivates students in a positive and professional manner and refers students to the appropriate resources for assistance.
- Participates in the creation, implementation, distribution and enforcements of the student and clinical handbooks.
- Maintenance and sharing of Program Effectiveness Data to include program completion rates, first time credentialing exam pass rates, and job placement rates.
- Oversee the processes of the CT programs.
- Teach courses in Radiology and CT programs as needed, based on qualifications and any faculty CBA requirements.
- Maintains student adherence to all College, program, and regulatory agency policies.
- Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
- Assumes the leadership role in the continued development of the program.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
1. Holds, at minimum, a Master’s degree, or be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
2. Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program, administration, and academic advising.
3. Documents three years’ clinical experience in the professional discipline.
4. Documents two years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program.
5. Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
7. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills required.
