What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Staff- PartTime position at Belmont County Animal Shelter?
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· To walk dogs several times a day to provide exercise and time for elimination of bowels and bladder.
· Feed each animal as prescribed by the attending D.V.M.
· To thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the shelter as often as is necessary.
· Unpacking, labeling and stocking of shelter supplies and donations.
· Cleans and sanitizes all cages, runs, and related areas.
· Wash and dry towels and blankets.
· Wash and sterilize water and food bowls.
· Maintain the shelter as a whole by performing tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, cleaning restrooms, and checking equipment and supplies.
· All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
· Frequently requires handling of materials up to 20 lbs. Additionally, handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs.
Education:
· High School Diploma
Required Qualifications:
· Must possess a valid driver’s license
· Must have dependable transportation.
· Knowledge of: Basic animal behavior.
· Experience: Previous experience in an Animal Shelter or related field preferred.
