We are seeking an accomplished and driven Flag Football Coach to join our team. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level. Successful coaches at Beloit College not only enhance athletic performance but also mentor student-athletes to thrive academically and socially in a vibrant and diverse campus community. Candidates must be capable of effectively recruiting academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in collaboration with the Enrollment Office.
Key Responsibilities Coaching and Mentoring
Establish and nurture positive relationships to mentor and guide student-athletes effectively.
Develop students' teamwork, leadership, and time-management skills to achieve success both in academics and athletics.
Plan and execute practices and competitions, ensuring thorough preparation and instruction.
Uphold and instill appropriate codes of conduct for team functions, including practices and competitions.
Meet regularly with students to support academic performance and personal development.
Set individual and team goals for each season, fostering growth and achievement.
Oversee and mentor assistant coaches, ensuring a collaborative and effective coaching team.
Recruitment
Partner with Enrollment and Athletics colleagues to align recruitment strategies with institutional goals.
Engage prospective students and their supporters through diverse communication channels such as email, text, calls, and social media.
Build meaningful connections with prospective audiences, promoting Beloit College as a valuable college option.
Attend high school games, showcases, camps, and other recruitment events to identify talented student-athletes.
Host prospective students and families during campus visits, open houses, and off-campus receptions.
Ensure recruitment practices comply with NCAA and MWC regulations.
Campus Involvement and Administrative Duties
Actively contribute to the Beloit College community, embodying the institution's values.
Engage in efforts to make Beloit College an anti-racist institution through coaching, mentoring, recruiting, and campus activities.
Represent athletic programs to students, parents, external agencies, and the broader campus community.
Manage the program's budget responsibly and efficiently.
Organize post-season awards and banquets to celebrate team achievements.
Oversee inventory and management of equipment and uniforms.
Credentials and Experience :
Bachelor's degree (required).
Previous coaching experience (required).
Minimum of six years of combined football coaching or playing experience (required).
Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, as well as the ability and willingness to learn additional software relevant to the role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Deep understanding and appreciation of the mission of a residential liberal arts college.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment while effectively engaging with diverse faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the general public.
Capacity to foster and contribute to inclusive learning and working environments that welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing activities, expectations, and responsibilities.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically analyze situations, prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks and projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of customer service standards and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including students, families, faculty, and administrators.
Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
A clear vision and strong philosophical commitment to integrating Division III athletics with education in a selective, residential liberal arts college environment.
Unwavering ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive records.
