Job Description
Under general supervision, the Kitchen Steward will provide guests and team members with clean and sanitized utensils, dishes, glassware, pots and equipment, in observance of all Health Department regulations as well as Company standards and procedures.

- The Kitchen Steward will have knowledge of stewarding functions, and be able to answer general questions regarding the property.
- Anticipate the guest’s needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
- The Kitchen Steward will wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
- The Kitchen Steward will sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup/receptacle areas. Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
- Clean, mop and sweep entire kitchen area.
- The Kitchen Steward will maintain daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, and provide cooks with needed items.
- The Kitchen Steward will have complete knowledge of all chemicals and cleaners including their use, proper storage, and handling procedures as well as tools associated with the position.
- Observe and adhere to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, proper steam table temperature, and cleanliness of work environment.
- The Kitchen Steward will use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner.
- Consistent attendance at company/restaurant training programs as they are scheduled.
- The Kitchen Steward will carry out duties with attention to detail, sanitation and safety.
- Complete opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by the supervisors.
- The Kitchen Steward will pass all tests given including the training in order to retain the knowledge needed to be an effective server.
- Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.
- The Kitchen Steward will possess the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and possess the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
- Perform all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines described in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards.
- The Kitchen Steward will perform all duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of experience in stewarding, kitchen maintenance, kitchen operations or similar.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service operation is preferred.
- Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment
- Must successfully pass background check
- Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
- Must be at least 18
