POSITION WILL BE OPEN UNTIL FILLED. APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED EVERY TWO WEEKS. Beltrami County Sheriff's Department is creating an eligibility list for a Records Technician. The current opening is a non-benefited, casual position scheduled to work up to 13 hours per week. Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work preparing, accessing, updating, and maintaining law enforcement criminal and civil records and files, processing permits and forfeitures, recording evidence and maintaining chain of custody, preparing report, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Records Supervisor / Sheriff Technician.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education and ExperienceMinimum requirements are: Associate’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, IT, accounting, or a related field. ORA substitution of education and work experience may qualify: Four years of related work experience in business, accounting, or criminal justice may be substituted for an Associate’s degree. ANDOne year or more of related clerical work experience that must include recent, extensive computer use.Valid MN driver’s license.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Special RequirementsCriminal Justice Information System’s certification required within six months of hire.Training in criminal justice coding, data privacy practices, civil process, gun permitting, and evidence packaging required within one year of hire.Employment offer contingent upon successfully passing drug screening and background check.
