Duties & Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the shop maintenance are:
- Cleans the service and customer areas, including but not limited to the waiting are, technician's locker room, lunch/break room, halls, offices and service bays.
- Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employees.
- Washes all windows, glass doors and glass panels throughout service area.
- Sweeps technician stalls, service department and body shop floors, showroom, halls, and vending areas.
- Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors and fans.
- Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary.
- Washes shop truck, inside and out.
- Cleans forklift and power equipment.
- Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside.
- Removes all debris from lot.
- Maintains yard equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures.
- Drains and disposes of used oil filters properly.
- Removes any old scrap service from shop after checking with parts manager.
- Returns cores to storage area.
- Assists technicians with oil and water spills; and emptying drain tubs.
- Runs errands as directed.
- Understands and complies with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- May be required to assist at other locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL WORK QUALITIES REQUIRED
- Must be self-motivated
- Strong verbal communication skills.
Skill, Training And Education Requirements & Preferences
The shop maintenance requires a number of basic skills, including:
- High School Diploma
- Possess valid driver's license
The shop maintenance position is fast paced and can be physical, demanding a number of physical attributes, including:
- The ability and energy level to stand/move for a long period of time
- The ability lift at least 50 pounds, unaided
- The ability to periodically work beyond the scheduled shift, as directed by Service Manager
