What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Diesel Mechanic position at Beltway Companies?
Beltway Companies is the largest commercial truck dealership in the state of Maryland. Our Mobile Diesel Mechanic's at our Frederick location serves central Maryland and Washington, DC. with state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostic equipment. Mobile technicians are vital members of our team and are charged with preventative maintenance and minor repairs of our customers' vehicles at their location. We have an immediate opening for a Mobile Diesel Mechanic at our Frederick location.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Perform scheduled PMs and minor repairs identified during inspections.
- Complete DVIR write-ups (vehicle inspections) and address emergency breakdowns.
- Make repairs to medium/heavy-duty trucks efficiently; must have own tools.
- Collaborate with the service desk to discuss vehicle issues and repair needs.
- Conduct routine maintenance (oil changes, battery replacements, lubrication).
- Test-drive vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure proper function.
- Stay current on warranty policies, vendor guidelines, and complete work orders accurately.
Qualified candidates will have their own hand tools and relevant training and/or experience, preferably with medium and/or heavy-duty trucks. Must be self-motivated, team player ready to hit the ground running.
GENERAL WORK QUALITIES REQUIRED:
- Valid driver’s license
- High school degree or equivalent
- 2 or more years related experience required
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles
- Working knowledge of computers and maintenance applications

- The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and certifications. A reasonable estimate of the current range would be $20 to $45 per hour
