What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Dental Assistant position at Ben Archer Health Center?
General Job Description:
- Help with patient management and strive to be competent in all disciplines of General Dentistry assisting.
- Be expected to be competent in front office tasks, take patient from waiting room, putting them in appropriate operatory, assist the dentists as needed.
- Clean Wrap and sterilize all instruments.
- Keep each operatory stocked, take routine x-rays and be responsible for maintaining the laboratory space in a clean neat condition.
- Disinfect counters, chairs, drills and lights in each operatory.
- Clean and change peri-pro solution, clean suctions and run disinfectant through the hoses.
- Take apart drills to clean and oil them. Keep storage room stocked and clean, do some to the ordering of supplies.
- Take impressions, pour up impressions, take apart impressions and box them to be mailed off.
- Turn off nitrous oxide and oxygen as needed at the end of the day.
- Make sure there is enough nitrous oxide and oxygen, take x-rays in charts when they need to be filed, mount X-rays, also help in front office and perform such other duties as required by Dentist or head dental assistant.
- Must work late shift when ordered.
