Primary Job Function
This position will be responsible for managing electrical and control systems scopes in support of the development and implementation of a diverse portfolio of capital and operations improvement projects across cement, pozzolan and aggregate divisions with a focus on design, execution. cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in the cement, lime, or minerals processing industry or another closely related heavy industrial field in a productions and / or engineering capacity.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in managing projects at all phases of development including conceptualization, design, construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations.
- Possess a strong understanding of electrical systems and component design, fabrication processes and engineering materials.
- Good familiarity with design, installation, upgrade, commissioning, operation and maintenance of power distribution systems, breakers, high voltage systems, air conditioning, and pressurization systems, variable speed medium voltage drives / motors, transformers, switchgear, power monitoring and communication equipment, and MCC equipment
- Thorough understanding of and capability to perform system and analytical studies including short circuit, grounding, coordination, load flow, motor starting, conduit and cable tray fill, and arc flash.
- Knowledge in the design of low, medium and high voltage power distribution, including transformer sizing and cable sizing.
- Familiarity with all facets of Allen Bradley's family of PLC componentry and the ability to design and maintain PLC systems.
- Experience in HMI design and programming, particularly with FLSmidth ECS and Rockwell Automation RSLogix / FactoryTalk View suite of software products.
- Possess the ability to collaborate with project managers, E&I and IT department personnel, process engineers, and vendors to develop and lead control system upgrades and migrations, adoption of data historians and maintenance, and implementation of robust control system security measures and protocols to ensure seamless integration with existing plant systems.
- Possess superior engineering skills, resourcefulness, and creativity and be able to apply these to conceptual and detailed designs, estimates, equipment selection, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Working knowledge of industry / regulatory codes and standards.
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for both review and generation of project drawings.
- Possess a high degree of proficiency with and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software products (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.
