Part-time, school-year position with competitive hourly pay.
Experience working with high school students is required.
Teaching or counseling license preferred, but not required.
Grant funded position through December 2025.
Flexible hours primarily during the school day for an average of 15-20 hours per week and no more than 29 hours per week. Some nights and weekends may be needed to support special events.
The MSD of Wayne Township is seeking career coaches in partnership with professional development, training, and support by Inspire Success to engage students through the READY Career Coaching program. Career coaches will support the efforts of professional school counselors by providing specialized expertise and resources through a coaching model with current juniors and seniors from all of the Wayne Township high schools and programs that enhance career development programs in alignment with Indiana's Career Coaching Framework. Career Coaches will also work directly with the Office of College and Career Readiness and Student Services to provide learning and experiential opportunities for students to acquire behaviors and skills that reflect college and career readiness to increase their access to post-secondary education and training programs and successful transition to careers.
Duties & Responsibilities -
- Career coaches will primarily work with students during the school day, but could also support evening family events, weekend college or industry visits, or hold virtual meetings and check-ins outside of school hours.
- Career coaches should have strong technology skills as training will be both in-person and through online learning models to gain the knowledge and skills pertaining to the Career Coaching Framework and the basic components of career advising.
- Career coaches will be expected to bring or acquire knowledge of local post-secondary education and training programs and local industry partners.
- Data collection by Career Coaches will be required through an online data collection tool provided by Inspire Success to monitor the student's progress toward the Career Coaching Framework milestones.
- Career Coaches will work directly with students, Wayne Township staff, families, and READY Coordinators provided by Inspire Success to problem-solve, brainstorm, and seek strategies that inspire and support students.
