Drivers Peachtree DOT

Position Summary and Responsibilities: Some weekends required. Most holidays required. Must be able to spend 1-2 nights out of town per week.  The purpose of the Local Backhaul Driver (DOT) is to ensure timely and accurate pick up of product from local vendors. You will be scheduling your appointments, picking up product and returning it to the distribution center. Perform product deliveries along assigned routes, and other related duties to guarantee customer satisfaction. Follow BEK transportation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety guidelines. Complete administrative tasks and related paperwork to guarantee the efficiency of transportation operations. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: At least 1 year of route driving experience required DOT certification required Valid Texas State Class A CDL license required Must be able to spend one night per week out of town. Will work some holidays and some Saturdays. Basic math skills required Ability to understand and enforce regulatory guidelines Knowledge of customer service principles and quality standards Ability to use Microsoft Office and learn new applications/proprietary software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with multiple levels of organization Self-motivated; able to work independently Innovative problem solver Customer-focused Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented; prioritization Active listening skills Independent thinking/decision-making skills Commitment to Ben E. Keith company principles and standards Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Ability to follow instructions and take direction. Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs. Must be able to walk extensively. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend at the waist, stoop, and squat to lift heavy items in a proper manner. Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs. Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith.  We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents.  All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
