Key Purpose Statement – Position Outputs:
The purpose of the Food Safety Technician is to assist the Food Safety Manager in monitoring and ensuring compliance with company food safety and quality control policies to prevent or reduce the occurrence of food safety related issues in a further processing facility.Note:
Follow at all times the HACCP, SSOP, and food safety rules and regulations.
Outputs (Goals) and Accountabilities
The key outputs for the FSQA Technician are listed below.
KEY OUTPUTS:
Practice all aspects of food safety and quality management system.Assist in overseeing plant sanitation.Perform daily pre-operational and operational inspections of all processing areas and complete associated paperwork.Maintain packaging traceability.Assist FSQA & Employee Safety Manager in monitoring SSOPs, GMPs, and Prerequisite Programs and addressing food safety related issues.Complete and maintain the required monitoring and verification paperwork as it applies to ensure USDA/FSIS and BRC compliance.Monitor and inspect finished products to ensure conformance to finished product specifications.Perform calibration checks on process monitoring equipment.Assist FSQA & Employee Safety manager with employee safety initiatives.

Competency Requirementsa. Knowledge and Experience – The following are education and experience requirements for the FSQA Technician.• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.• HACCP certification (preferred). Other food safety training and/or certification as applicable. • Knowledge of GMPs, Food Allergens, and PPE. • Experience with employee safety and OSHA knowledge a plus. • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
