Position Range: $64,292 - $96,438. 

Hiring Range: $64,292 - $80,365

NATURE OF POSITION
Supervise assigned employees in all aspects of vehicle cleaning and servicing, including revenue and non-revenue vehicles; oversee lot maintenance and cleanliness, help plan and coordinate any lot rearrangements. Work closely with Fleet Maintenance management team to complete goals and objectives. Ensure compliance with Agency policies, federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Plan, schedule, assign, and review work for assigned staff.
  • Supervise and audit work plans, ensuring projects are completed efficiently.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to work methods and procedures.
  • Train and ensure staff adherence to agency policies, rules, regulations, and environmental and emergency management protocols.
  • Schedule and confirm all vehicles are serviced, cleaned, and operational for daily pullouts.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a transit vehicle cleaning program.
  • Ensure servicing, cleaning, and repair processes comply with established standards.
  • Administer safety training, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hazardous waste disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Conduct workplace hazard analysis to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Monitor compliance with collective bargaining agreements; participate in negotiations and grievance meetings as needed.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) reviews and other audits.
  • Assist in event and accident investigations taking place at MOA, assure staff are completing documents, and reporting accidents and events.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment to perform job duties of work group.
  • Procure necessary resources while reviewing operating costs and budget allocations.
  • Oversee and ensure proper handling of farebox vaults and adherence to agency policies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate timecards, activity logs, inspection forms, and work orders.
  • Provide reports on operations, safety, and compliance for management review.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and safety of fuel island facilities.
  • Ensure procedures align with safety and operational standards.
  • Train employees in proper cleaning, servicing, and repair procedures.
  • Work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Familiarity with various cleaning detergents, tools, materials, and methods used in vehicle and facility cleaning, including the proper use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Understanding safety precautions, including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) per OSHA standards.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanical components and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Awareness of Federal, State, and local laws, rules, codes, and regulations relevant to assigned activities.
  • Knowledge of proper handling, disposal, and safety protocols for hazardous materials, including biohazards and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools used for mechanical maintenance and repair.
  • Skill in safely handling, maintaining, and utilizing tools and equipment for building and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to identify and dispose of biohazardous materials following safety standards.
  • Competence in training, scheduling, supervising, and motivating team members.
  • Proficiency in utilizing office equipment, software, and technology to meet business needs.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills to lead teams and meet deadlines.
  • React quickly and effectively in emergency situations, adopting appropriate actions within established guidelines.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and others encountered during work.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to convey information clearly.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.
  • Learn, adapt to, and apply new technologies, policies, procedures, and guidelines as required.
  • Perform basic arithmetic for tasks such as inventory management or report preparation.
  • Focus on tasks, recall details, and handle frequent interruptions without compromising efficiency.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work and activities of others to ensure operational success.
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and three-years of experience supervising cleaning and servicing functions in a public transit or maintenance environment; or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must obtain and maintain the following licenses and certifications:
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements and corresponding medical certification, or ability to obtain within 180-days of employment.
  • Basic First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 180-days of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree from an accredited institution and experience supervising employees in a union environment. Three-years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
