About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate primarily analyzes and evaluates medical records, providing expert opinions on healthcare-related legal issues within cases like medical malpractice and personal injury cases, working with attorneys to assist in case development and strategy by identifying key medical facts and standards of care involved in a case. This is an in-office position located in Dallas, Texas. We are not using recruiters for this position - all applicants must apply via LinkedIn.

Responsibilities :

  • Medical record review : Thoroughly examining and interpreting medical records to create a chronological timeline of events and identify relevant medical details crucial to the legal case.
  • Standards of care analysis : Assessing whether healthcare provided aligns with accepted medical standards relevant to the case.
  • Case evaluation : Helping attorneys assess the merits of a case by analyzing medical facts and potential legal arguments.
  • Client interviews : Conducting interviews with clients to gather medical history and details relevant to the legal claim.
  • Literature research : Conducting medical literature searches to support legal arguments
  • Identifying potential expert witnesses : Assisting in finding and consulting other medical experts as needed

Qualifications :

Active and Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (mandatory); Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Legal Nurse Consulting Certification (LNCC) is highly desirable; at least 7 years of clinical nursing experience; strong medical knowledge; expertise in reviewing medical records and legal documents; excellent communication skills and the ability to analyze and research medical information to support legal cases.

  • Pay range and compensation package :

    Salary is based on candidates experience.
