Job Title: Engineering Drawing CAD Detailer
- High school diploma/GED
- Associates degree in design/drafting engineering technology or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 5 years of mechanical detailing structural steel and/or platework experience
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD
- SolidWorks, SDS/2, 3D Modeling software experience (optional)
- Tekla EPM experience
- Knowledge of basic math
- Detail oriented, logical thinking, analytical minded
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with structural steel shapes, common material specifications, carbon steel, stainless steel
- Strong knowledge of welding symbols
Responsibilities
- Creating 2D AutoCAD detail drawings used for fabrication & processing for structural steel and platework weldments/assemblies from customer supplied design drawings/sketches
- Follow established drafting standards and procedures
- Fill out drawing Bill of Materials for quantities, piece marks, material, descriptions & weights
- Perform part details of individual pieces to assemblies
- Create flat developments of rolled steel pieces
- Use correct views and section views of weldments and assemblies
- Thoroughly perform self-checks of your own detailing work for accuracy
- Work within Tekla EPM to input entries for all Bill of Material entries
- Ability to work in a Team environment with other Detailers, Checkers & Project Team
