Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate estimates for lumber, building materials, and other construction supplies based on blueprints and project specifications.
- Analyze residential and commercial construction plans to determine material requirements and costs.
- Work closely with contractors, architects, and project managers to provide detailed pricing and product recommendations.
- Source cost-effective materials while maintaining quality and meeting customer expectations.
- Utilize estimating software and lumber takeoff programs to ensure precise calculations.
- Assist the sales team with product selection, availability, and order fulfillment.
- Stay up to date with market trends, pricing changes, and supplier options to optimize estimates.
- Collaborate with warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Provide exceptional customer service by advising clients on the best material options for their projects.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator in the building materials or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of residential and commercial building materials, including lumber, roofing, drywall, insulation, and hardware.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Experience with estimating software, construction takeoff programs, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in calculations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with contractors and vendors.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- No specific licenses required, but relevant certifications are a plus.
