What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Development Coordinator position at Ben's Lighthouse?
Ben’s Lighthouse, a 501 (c)(3) arts organization located in Newtown, CT is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Fund Development Coordinator. This position reports to the Administrative Director.
The position will begin with a three-month trial period, after which time an offer of employment will be made based on performance.
Job duties include:
Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Administrative Director to plan, organize, and execute fund development goals and related fundraising events.
Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to source contributions from a diverse set of sources including individual donors, corporate donors, foundations, government, and public grants etc.
Research, develop and maintain relationships with foundations that provide grant funding to arts organizations.
Lead donor stewardship by cultivating and nurturing relationships with individual donors. Keep donors informed, engaged, and valued by acknowledging, recognizing, and reporting to maintain and cultivate support.
Work with the Administrative Director to determine grant eligibility, apply for grants and write grants.
Establish performance measures and monitor results in the CRM to refine and improve fund development strategies and monitor success of campaigns.
Plan and execute regularly scheduled fundraising campaigns.
Create promotional materials and fund development messages.
Generate awareness about the organization
Fundraising performance benchmarks will be established annually.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit organization (and/or transferable experience)
Prior proven experience with grant management/writing and the ability to obtain funding.
Experience managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources and cultivating new donor relationships.
Office and database programs experience required. Network for Good is a plus but not required.
Fundraising performance benchmarks will be established annually.
