What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Controller position at Benaiah Consulting Group?
Corporate Controller
Hands-On, Growth-Driven Leader Needed for a Manufacturing Company
Are you the kind of finance professional who thrives in a small-company, high-impact environment?
Do you love rolling up your sleeves and taking ownership of the numbers—whether it’s closing the books, managing cash flow, or strategizing for growth?
If you’re equally comfortable meeting with bankers in the afternoon and then rolling your sleeves up to help with A/P work that's behind, we have a career-defining opportunity for you.
Our client, a fast-growing manufacturing and distribution company based in Plano, TX, is looking for a Controller to lead its accounting function.
This is not a “sit back and review reports” kind of role.
They need a hands-on, Excel-savvy financial leader who can take charge, problem-solve, and help scale the business as they are projected to grow over 100% this year to $6M in revenue this year.
Why Is This A Great Opportunity?
✔ Direct Access to Leadership – You’ll work closely with the CEO, playing a key role in financial strategy and decision-making.
✔ Growth & Stability – This company has been in business for over 20 years, with a family-oriented, tight-knit team and a strong trajectory for expansion.
✔ Make an Immediate Impact – From closing the books to guiding a system transition (NetSuite → Cetec), your expertise will be critical in shaping the future of the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the accounting function – manage month-end close, financial reporting, and cash flow
- Ensure GAAP compliance while overseeing job costing and manufacturing finance
- Supervise & mentor two accounting team members while still staying hands-on
- Be the go-to expert in Excel – strong skills in formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs required
- Help lead the company’s system transition from NetSuite to Cetec in early 2025
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other Financial Discipline
- CPA, CMA, or other financial-related professional designation
- 8 years of full-cycle accounting experience (manufacturing or job-costing experience STRONGLY preferred)
- Deep expertise in Excel – not just “comfortable” but a power user
- Experience leading small accounting teams in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt in a fast-moving company – you’ll wear many hats, and no two days will be the same
- A hands-on, do-whatever-it-takes mindset – some days you’re reviewing financials, some days you’re solving operational challenges, and some days you’re making sure there’s coffee in the break room so the team can keep moving
The Details
- Compensation: $100K - $125K Bonus
- Location: Plano, TX (Full-time, in-office)
- 100% Employer-Paid insurance
- Flexible PTO plan
- 401k plus annual company match based on profitability up to 5%
This isn’t just another Controller role—it’s a chance to make an impact at a company where your voice matters and your expertise is valued.
If you’re looking for a challenging, rewarding opportunity where you can truly own the numbers and help drive success, we’d love to hear from you.
