BENCH DOGS JOB OPENING : Assembler - Manufacturing - First Shift
Bench Dogs is looking for full-time Assemblers on first shift!
Bench Dogs is a small manufacturing company located in Denver, PA that specializes in retail displays, store fixtures, and commercial case goods. We have under 100 employees and are unique in that we are a custom, full-service design, engineering, and manufacturing company that sees products from the time they're simply an idea to when they're fully built and installed onsite.
Bench Dogs has employees responsible for everything from design, engineering, and project management to production, inventory, and installation. Our facility is often complimented for its cleanliness and organization and is complete with offices, a warehouse area for inventory and materials, loading docks for staging and shipping goods, a machining department, and a large shop floor area for assembly that includes a finishing area and lamination booth.
Our Assembler role here at Bench Dogs is part of our production team and is responsible for assisting with the fabrication and assembly of our products and finished goods, which range from commercial casework to retail displays and store fixtures. At Bench Dogs, it is extremely important to us that our products are of a high quality and go through our facility and production process in a safe and timely manner that allows our finished goods to be delivered and installed on time for our customers. Our Assemblers play a significant role in this process and help facilitate our success by ensuring products are assembled safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. Below is a list of the primary job responsibilities for our Assembler role :
- Assemble Finished Products : Fabricate and assemble commercial casework, retail displays, and store fixtures from raw materials using hand and power tools, machinery, and assembly jigs.
- I nterpret Drawings & Specifications : Read and interpret mechanical drawings and production documents, ensuring all components meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Setup & Operate Equipment : Set up and operate production machinery and basic hand and power tools (saws, drill presses, battery powered drivers, etc.) to produce parts per specifications and complete basic laminating and trimming operations.
- Quality Control & Inspection : Perform regular quality checks to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements and report any deviations from established standards. Document production processes and quality inspections as required.
- Collaboration & Self-Direction : Work closely with team members, engineers, and operations staff to achieve shared goals and support optimal production processes while also being able to work independently, taking ownership of tasks and projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain Safety Standards : Follow all safety protocols, including wearing necessary protective gear and ensuring safe handling of materials.
- Manage Materials : Handle and stack materials safely, ensuring secure transportation to and from workstations while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Training & Development : Assist in training and mentoring new team members as needed and help optimize production methods.
- Housekeeping : Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping and safety standards.
- Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Supervisor.
The Assembler position we're looking to fill is for our first shift, which has a schedule of Monday to Thursday, 5 : 00am - 3 : 30pm and is located at our facility in Denver, PA . The compensation rate for the role depends on level of knowledge, experience, and skill and has a pay scale ranging from approximately $19 per hour to $30 per hour .
