Summary:
Install and remove mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies per work instructions and/or visual aids. May troubleshoot failed assemblies to determine corrective action.
- Uses hand tools and custom fixtures, working in a team environment with other assemblers and support functions to produce products on time and with high level of quality.
- Performs validation and inspection of own work and within immediate work area
- Maintains adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area
- Maintains tools and equipment in proper working order
- Maintains the security and confidentiality of customer products and documentation
- May become involved with product testing
- Participates in providing timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations as appropriate
- Proactively participates in site Lean engagement and activities.
- Provides feedback on ways to reduce scrap created within the process by recommending corrective action to reduce or eliminating root cause.
- Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
- Complies and follows all company security policies and procedures. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Able to perform all the essential functions and competencies listed above.
- Works on most difficult assemblies and may be consulted for recommendations for process improvements by engineering or management.
- Recognized as area expert in being able to perform and train in specialized production and testing operations.
- Troubleshoots all levels of problems through testing and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Able to perform a wide array of testing on most complex product builds.
- Able to calibrate test equipment as specified by customer requirements.
- Has wide latitude for using independent judgment with minimal supervisory oversight.
- May interact with customers as required.
- Serves as a mentor as well as a back-up to the Team Leader or supervisor in their absence.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability
- Understands complex blueprints and can translate them into efficient work instructions
- Strong troubleshooting ability and regarded as area assembly expert
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
- Ability to read, write, perform basic-intermediate math
- Ability to perform most highly complex assembly and testing functions
- 10 years in a lead role with all processes or a specialized knowledge
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills
- Ability to perform basic-moderate placement and testing activities
- High School Diploma or GED
