Job Description Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Associate Attorney is a full-time position and will be assigned their own caseload, including cases in pre-litigation through trial and will develop new sources of client referrals. This individual will represent clients and will have responsibility for settlement demand letters, negotiations, pleadings, law and motion and matters relating to trial preparation.While personal injury and litigation experience is highly preferred, we may be willing to train the right candidate who has an interest about this area of law.Location & ScheduleThis position is eligible for a hybrid schedule and on-site work will be conducted from our office in Irvine.About the FirmBenchmark Injury Law is a family-owned, boutique personal injury law firm focusing on serious injury personal injury cases in pre-litigation, litigation and trial. The Associate Attorney is also eligible for the following benefits : 100% employee-covered HMO or PPO medical and vision insurance50% dependent-covered HMO or PPO medical and vision insuranceRetirement plan with up to 3% matchPaid vacation and paid sick leavePaid holidaysEducation reimbursementDiscretionary bonusEssential Position ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in various cases including products liability, premises liability, motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, government claims, etc.Develop a pipeline of potential business opportunities.Complete pre-litigation demand letters and negotiate with adjusters / lawyers in pre-litigation.Draft complaint documents and other initiating pleadings, while responding to responsive motions such as demurrer, motions to strike, etc.Oversee and / or draft and respond to discovery, including discovery motions.Take and defend depositions, including of defendants, witnesses and experts.Routine court appearances, law and motion hearings, trial setting conferences, etc.Respond to motions for summary judgment / adjudication and appear for oral argument.Prepare for and participate in trials as either first or second chair.Other responsibilities as assigned.QualificationsLicensed member of the State Bar of California, in good standing.At least 3 years of pre-litigation and litigation experience or a willingness to learn.Ability to multi-task during deadline intensive periods.Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and complete projects.How to ApplyThank you for your interest in the Associate Attorney opportunity available with Benchmark Injury Law!
