About the Role
Our direct client, a leading fintech company, is looking to hire n Analytics Engineer (Product), Assistant Vice President level, to develop features and analytics tools for the Product team. This role focuses on building data models using dbt, understanding, analyzing, visualizing data in Tableau and working with stakeholders to implement product features (e.g. A/B testing, ML services). These solutions span data ingestion, centralization, governance, analysis and machine learning. While not all our work directly involves software engineering, almost all of it is heavily informed by software engineering principles.
This role will be in the Analytics group of the broader Data Office team and work closely with our Data Engineering and Data Science teams. On the technical side, this individual will interface with our entire data stack of Airbyte, Snowflake, dbt, Prefect, Python, Tableau and SageMaker, etc. On the business side, the role will work with our Product team to drive top-line growth metrics, sales, usage, conversion, etc. This role will also require writing code.
Responsibilities
- Write Python and SQL (in dbt) to extract, transform, validate, and aggregate data
- Create Tableau dashboards for various business teams, charting key metrics and performing exploratory data analysis
- Working with stakeholders to implement product features (e.g. A/B testing, ML services)
- Convert data insights into concrete, action-oriented and phased execution plans that measurably grow product metrics over time
- Build and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Product and Software Development teams
- Drive projects to completion by gathering business requirements, implementing technical solutions, following software engineering best practices, and presenting results
- Develop statistical models and construct data-driven experiments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics or a related technical field
- 3-6 years of experience in a product related data/analysis role
- Product-based experience working with senior stakeholders, developing features, building tools to measure feature impact and crafting compelling presentations.
- Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent knowledge of SQL; dbt experience is preferred
- Good knowledge of Python, Microsoft Excel and intermediate statistics
- Good knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, normalization, OLAP stores
- Familiar with data science techniques and machine learning models
- Familiar with a business intelligence tool (e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI)
- Familiar with data governance principles, data stewardship, traceability, lineage
- Experience in the financial services and alternative investments is preferred
HYBRID:
This position is located in New York City, very close to Grand Central Station, and is 4 days/week onsite with the ability to work from home on Fridays.
Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000.
