The Banquet Manager is responsible for but not limited to providing leadership and direction in the operations of Conference and Catering Events including meetings and breaks. The Banquet Manager is responsible for meeting the objectives and standards set forth by the Chatham Bars Inn Service Standards to include Forbes, Preferred Legend, and AAA. Additional responsibilities to include:
- Manage and coordinate function room setups, AV requirements preparation and functionality
- BEO Management and attend all resume meetings
- Food & Beverage ordering for events
- Manage and coordinate function room setups, AV requirements preparation and functionality
- Main point of contact for the client during the event(s)
- Coordinate and facilitate staff service training programs, work schedules, company rules and policies
- Manage labor costs, purchasing, facility maintenance, equipment, supplies and cleanliness of the facilities.
- Provide quality services and increase guest satisfaction
- Handle guest requests and concerns
- Develop and maintain effective communications between all operating departments.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Banquet Manager with high volume banquet business
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory/management experience
- Experience in a 4 or 5 Star/Diamond property strongly preferred
- College education or equivalent, hotel or restaurant management degree preferred
- Organizational skills to function effectively with attention to detail while meeting established deadlines
- Excellent computer skills. Experience with Excel, Outlook, Micros, Open Table, and Delphi preferred
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment
- Communicate effectively in English, both in oral and written form
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
