Overview
POSITION PURPOSE:
Develop and execute strategic marketing direction and creative internal and external resort marketing, advertising, promotion and public relations projects to include, direct marketing, advertising, public relations/community relations, social media as directed by the Resort VP, Sales & Marketing. Act as liaison between the resort and contracted E-Commerce vendors/service providers. Responsible for building long term relationships with media and strengthening the brand value.
Develops and implements the annual marketing plan for the property that supports the overall brand strategy for the resort. Responsible for understanding local business needs, trends and market conditions to identify revenue producing marketing opportunities for the resort. Responsible for assessing, anticipating and reacting to the competitive marketplace in regard to marketing strategies, programs, campaigns, and promotions.
Qualifications
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education: Four year college degree in field or related field.
Experience: Extensive combined marketing, public relations and data management experience required. Prior hotel/travel industry experience preferred. Knowledge in, and sustained success in, managing Public Relations and Ad Agencies.

- Extensive knowledge of marketing communication mediums to include but not limited to print advertising, internet marketing and public relations
- Ability to delegate, manage manpower and organize complex projects and establish priorities
- Ability to develop, manage and interpret extensive amounts of information from databases for marketing and sales communication in an effort to develop comprehensive marketing plans and programs
- Ability to effectively deal with department heads, executive committee members, team members and corporate staff, Wigwam Golf Management, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Good oral and written communication skills, must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Ability to understand and analyze budget, financial statements, competitive information and develop plans with measurable results
- Proven managerial and critical thinking skills required
- Must be a positive advocate for the resort, ownership, management company, and possess excellent employee relations skills
- Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when required
- Measurable objectives as defined on annual Performance appraisal
- Teamwork ability to work collaboratively with other departments, and leaders, to complete property/corporate initiatives and effective day to day operations
- Financial results that meet or exceed budget expectations for revenue generation and cost control
- Must be able to write effectively and creatively and possess basic computational ability.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills
- Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Google Analytics experience preferred
- Have a record of innovative, fresh thinking and a real passion for marketing

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic/changing environment self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
