The Director of LifeStyle Engagement is responsible for the development and company-wide implementation of our Memory Care programs. This role will successfully partner with all levels of the organization to provide vision, innovative design, strategic and operational leadership in the delivery of this program that promotes evidence-based principles/practices and results in exceptional resident and family experiences. This position will require travel to BSL communities – driving and/or air travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this key position, essential job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership responsibility for the creation of an innovative person-centered, Montessori enhanced memory care program. Successfully lead the company-wide execution of the program.
Provide supervision and direction to Area Directors of Memory Care
Develop, implement, and evaluate memory care programs, policies, and procedures.
Subject matter expert (SME) liaison with HR and Learning/Development related to memory care associate job descriptions, competencies, on-boarding and on-going education.
Successfully create collaborative and influential relationships with all levels of the organization.
Support new BSL community transitions (acquisitions, openings).
Provide on-site community support and direction as required.
Other memory care related projects as assigned.
Strategy
Intensive collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Culinary and Development teams to define memory care program brand, marketing/sales strategy and environmental design standards.
Uses growth oriented strategic planning skills to realize organizational goals and objectives related to memory care and resident programming.
Provides prioritized recommendations for implementation of clinical, financial, and operational best practices.
Develops and supports pilot programs to enhance quality care and customer experience.
Compliance and Safety
Establishes and verifies compliance with memory care programming, related regulations and Benchmark standards.
Analysis/Reporting
Performs analysis and generates relevant memory care program key performance outcomes/metrics and reports as required.
Communication
Expert communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to relate in a positive and professional way to a diverse resident and associate population.
Effectively communicates with community leaders, regional partners, and all levels of the organization.
Effectively handles follow-up issues as requested and in a timely manner.
Problem Solving / Decision Making
Identifies operational inefficiencies and makes recommendations for process improvement.
Demonstrates sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Public Relations/Marketing/ Sales
Represents the company with pride and knowledge to educate outside groups and organizations about the organization’s memory care and resident engagement programs.

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited bachelor’s degree in health sciences field (Masters preferred).
Certification in dementia care (CDP, CDCM, Certified Montessori Practitioner) preferred.
Minimum of five years of senior living experience.
Minimum of three years of multi-state senior leadership experience preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to travel 75% of the time (and as needed based on community need).
