This role will oversee the global site training teams to implement consistent training programs that align with Benchmark’s global business goals. The Director will partner with international leaders to assess training and development needs and create solutions to improve business performance and individual/leadership skills. This position will be lead in the planning, administration, and execution of global operations training programs.

The Director of Operations Learning and Development is responsible for creating and managing the training programs on a global scale. This role will oversee the global site training teams to implement consistent training programs that align with Benchmark’s global business goals. The Director will partner with international leaders to assess training and development needs and create solutions to improve business performance and individual/leadership skills. This position will be lead in the planning, administration, and execution of global operations training programs.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for site trainers to conduct for all levels of employees, focusing on Benchmark’s organizational strategy and Operations goals related to continuous improvement and the manufacturing process, safety protocols, and quality standards. Conduct needs assessments globally to make recommendations to senior leadership on prioritization of learning initiatives.
- Develop multi-faceted site-level leadership program to be executed globally.
- Oversee and design curriculum and associated tools to support and improve organizational capability; routinely measures and improves deliverables; develop and curate content to be used online, in person and through virtual interactions.
- Assures quality of training from design to delivery to post-delivery by optimizing the return for investment in development and training and maximize the return on expectations (ROE) through behavioral change.
- Support the development of current and future operations leaders through assessments, coaching, and development plan design.
- Work with vendors to formulate development and training programs based on knowledge of identified training needs, company business processes, business systems or changes in procedures or services.
- Lead collaborative processes which gather input from key stakeholders in order to prioritize ongoing training needs; collaborates with other functional trainers to develop trainer capacity across the organization.
- Work within the extended HR team to implement improvements in delivery, content, tracking, and outcomes.
- Support a geographically diverse employee population with various schedules.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Management, Education, or related field. Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as education, business administration, or management a plus.
- At least seven (7) years or more of experience driving Learning & Development design, implementation, and management on a global scale in a manufacturing environment.
- At least five (5) years or more of experience with adult education and curriculum development, including experience with eLearning tools (Articulate, Captivate, and any LMS).
- At least three (3) or more years of experience leading international teams.
- Program management experience that includes managing multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Understanding and application of adult learning theory and instructional design principles across various cultures.
- Prior experience developing training in a variety of delivery modalities (blended, virtual, hands-on/experimental, instructor led, remote classroom, synchronous/asynchronous) for a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in organizational development, planning, service delivery and evaluation.
- Strong business acumen and an ability to build successful relationships with a variety of business leaders.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, communication, and coaching skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and influence others through results, enthusiasm, positive work habits, and high energy.
- Ability to build credibility quickly at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with Predictive Index, Korn Ferry competencies, Articulate 360.
- LMS knowledge and prior admin experience highly preferred.
- Experience with Image creation tools, Captivate and video editing is a plus.
- Problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, using good judgement and professionalism.
- Understanding of AI and its uses in L&D is a plus.
- Ability to create and monitor metrics to ensure ROI.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds 5% or less of the workday
- Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, and reason
- Will work in a hybrid schedule in the office three (3) days per week and from home two (2) days per week.
- Some travel may be required to visit global sites and support training requirements
