Benchmark is seeking a talented National Accounts Manager to contribute to company success by developing long term relationships with key customers in the bakery industry, establishing productive customer relationships to expand key accounts, building, and closing business to achieve targeted sales goals. Successful candidates will demonstrate an entrepreneurial and positive attitude combined with the appropriate technical and inter-personal skills. They will be a motivated self-starter, with a powerful desire to achieve personal and professional growth. The National Accounts Manager will have a solution selling approach to customer projects and be comfortable working in a team selling environment in support of closing business.

The National Accounts Manager will have a solution selling approach to customer projects and be comfortable working in a team selling environment in support of closing business.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Have knowledge of our key Bakery Industry vertical market, with the ability to drive business development and marketing efforts to build a targeted pipeline.
- Develop and implement Strategic Account Penetration plans for targeted accounts.
- Work in conjunction with other Benchmark functions to provide the best solution to the customer (Application Engineering, Project Management, Finance, etc.)
- Develop a complete understanding of the customers' organizational structure and key buying influences.
- Perform customer presentations, articulating the value proposition of product/solution/service offerings and complex ROI.
- Manage high revenue-based opportunities to meet revenue and margin growth strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and sustain effective business relationships with high-profile, key accounts to drive high levels of customer satisfaction while expanding the Benchmark footprint in those accounts.
- Stay up to date of technology and market developments, appropriate standards, and competitor offerings and keep current on trends from both market and technical standpoints.
- BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree. A degree in Engineering is a plus.
- Typically, 8-10 years of successful sales experience in complex, highly technical capital, or automation equipment solution within the baking industry vertical.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate complex machinery specifications and features.
- Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Must be able to negotiate complex deals, including experience with executive level engagements and communication.
- Able to multi-task and work in a high-growth, fast-paced and deadline driven environment successfully.
- Experience selling multi-million-dollar projects ($2 million in size)
- Possess the ability to develop informal network of associates within the Packaging Industry, which provides insights into the individuals, organizations, and equipment that impact Benchmark and ProMach.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events (up to 70%) must be located near a major airport.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Salesforce preferred.
