General Ledger Accountant
Description
Provide assistance to Senior Accountants in the review and analysis of financial records for companies and cost centers as assigned. Analyze accounts in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual work papers and financial statements. Prepare journal entries and reconcile all accounts. Maintain fixed asset records for properties and companies.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand relationships between cost centers and companies, and review financial information to make sure it follows the relationships.
- Analyze accounts and prepare work papers in good format and financial statements with footnotes as required on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis in conformity with company policies and accounting principles.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile all accounts.
- Work on special projects.
- Review and record transactions and monthly entries such as depreciation, amortization, management fees, I/C charges and other transactions documented by closing statements and other correspondence.
- Work with other departments throughout the company to review data for accuracy and to gain an understanding of the transactions occurring.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 1 to 3 yrs financial reporting experience, but will train
- Prefer a CPA or public accounting experience with work paper preparation experience; 4 yr accounting degree required.
- Proficiency in excel.
Pay Range: $60,500 - $75,000 Annually
