Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and enhancement of the Vision Benefit application.
- Evaluate user requests and document the functional specifications.
- Develop the required functionality through the entire SDLC (Coding, Unit testing, QA testing, Documentation, Implementation, User training).
- Assist in QA testing if questions or negative results occur.
- Accurately monitor and reconcile monthly production processes.
- Develop customized reporting and or extracts as requested by clients & internal users.
- Prepare documentation describing design, coding, and comprehensive testing scenarios.
- Provide off-hours support for releases as needed.
- Troubleshoot production related issues.
- Must have a high level of competency in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and supporting production-quality COBOL applications.
- Expert knowledge of COBOL, SQL, DB2, CLP, Stored procedures and iSeries.
- Experience with iSeries and performance analysis are a plus.
- JAVA experience is a plus.
- BS in Computer Science or related field/degree, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with managed care health programs and the insurance industry is a plus.
- Strong ability to analyze existing code and to formulate and implement changes.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
