POSITION SUMMARY:
The Development Engineer is responsible for a broad range of duties, including research and development via prototyping and testing of new products, problem solving with regards to design and manufacturing processes, as well as system maintenance for Cabinet Vision and any adjacent software. Additionally, the Development Engineer provides cabinetry and millwork design knowledge to support Drafting, Sales, and the various Manufacturing departments to advance assigned projects from the design/development stages through launch to the market.
Qualifications
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position may vary over time as the position develops.
- Applies engineering principles to develop new materials and new products in line with the growth strategy of Benedettini Cabinetry.
- Interfaces with internal customers.
- Plans and conducts products testing.
- Communicates results of product testing, both verbally and in writing.
- Coaches and mentors’ other employees within drafting and engineering department.
- Manages various development/prototyping programs.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other job relate duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
Required:
- Three years or more of Cabinet Vision experience or comparable CAD software.
- Two years or more of cabinet shop experience.
- One to two years of schooling in computer programming or computer focused study.
Preferred:
- Five years or more of Cabinet Vision experience or comparable CAD software.
- Two years or more of cabinet shop experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer programming.
