Job Title: English Teacher – Long-term Substitute
FSLA Status: Temporary, Long-term Substitute
Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM-3:30 PM
Position Dates: late August to early November 2025
Benedictine College Preparatory has an opening for a long-term substitute for English classes beginning late August until early November. Applications and resumes are being accepted immediately, and interviews will be scheduled for competitive candidates on a rolling basis beginning within the next few weeks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach college preparatory and honors courses in English.
- Support the mission of the school, model its Benedictine values, and journey with students as they become confident, competent, and compassionate men and women.
- Utilize the school’s student information system to post assignments, units of study, and related course materials to support student self-initiative and self-advocacy.
- Assume standard non-curricular responsibilities assigned to all faculty.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English or related field required; master's degree preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching English at a high school or college level is preferred.
