Job Summary
The Grounds Team maintains the campus lawns, landscapes, sports fields, concrete, water features, etc. in a manner that reflects the highest levels of professionalism. This includes mowing, trimming, trash removal, trimming trees and shrubs, planting flowers, fertilizing, and general landscape maintenance. The ideal candidate must be very experienced in lawn care and landscape maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the campus grounds in a professional manner
- Complete work orders as assigned by the Grounds Supervisor, Landscape Coordinator, or Director of Operations
- Ensure the overall workload of the department is met
- Provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty, and staff of Benedictine College
- Communicate clearly both orally and in writing
Requirements:
- Competency Statements: Accountability, Customer Oriented, Detail Oriented, Time Management, Working Under Pressure
- ~2 years experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance
- Ability to work independently and/or part of a team
- Professional appearance
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Problem Solving
- Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds (8-10) hours per day
- Able and willing to work in various weather conditions (8-10) hours per day
- Snow removal in the Winter
- Landscape bed maintenance, shrub trimming and tree trimming
- Mowing 1 to 2 days per week with a zero-turn mower
