Licensed Practical Nurse
This individual must be able to work shifts from 6am-2pm and alternating 2pm-10pm
Responsible to:
Sister Administrator and Human Resources
Job Summary:
The LPN works as the Charge Nurse and is responsible for all nursing care given on that shift, assessing the nursing needs of the Sister residents and making necessary decisions regarding their care. This nurse must have a valid license in the State of Missouri.
Essential Functions:
· Oversee the care given by the nursing staff (including NA’s, CNA’s , L1MA’s )
· Report issues to the Nursing Supervisor
· Assess the Sister residents early in the shift and make nursing decisions related to their care
· Report all important information about each Sister resident to the Nursing Supervisor and call the Sister Administrator if the Sister resident’s care warrants it.
· Chart significant changes in the Sister resident’s condition.
· Participate in the daily patient care of the Sister residents which include bathing, grooming, feeding, activities, etc.
· Participate in the nursing care of the Sister residents which includes oral care, toileting, changing bed liners, keeping rooms orderly, etc.
· Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician or indicated by Sister residents’ need.
· Follow policies in observing safety and infection control practices.
· Use proper body techniques in bending, lifting or stooping
· Coordinate workflow, staff breaks/meals on the shift.
· Stock Sister residents rooms as needed
· Report needed supplies.
· Maintain a clean, neat and orderly working environment
· May be asked to transport Sister residents to appointment etc.
· Perform duties required of Nursing Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Requirements:
· Must have and maintain a Valid LPN license in the State of Missouri.
· Certification to administer IV’s
· Pass a background and drug screening
· At least 1 years experience preferred
· Skills to supervise a staff of 2 to 10
· Multi-tasking

· Good written and verbal communication skills
