Overview
The Home Health Homemaker will assist home health patient/resident care with performing household activities to maintain a safe and comfortable environment. The Home Health Homemaker completes assigned tasks to ensure timely, efficient and safe patient/resident care. Communication and interactions with patients, residents, families and other health team members is an essential component of this position.
Responsibilities
- Performing light housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Planning and preparing meals.
- Accompanying the patient/resident outside of the home, if directed.
- Participating in supportive activities to promote or maintain the patient/resident independence in the home setting.
- Maintain household routines.
- Follow a designated work plan.
- Communicate significant changes in the status of the patient/resident and/or family.
- Maintain a record of activities as directed.
- Promote the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
- Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Valid Driver’s License
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
- Good standing on the State Nursing Assistant registry or appropriate entity
- Previous home health, hospital, or nursing home experience preferred
- CPR certified
