- CNC Machinist responsibilities include operating machines, inspecting parts for quality, and performing basic maintenance tasks.
- Operate machines efficiently to produce high-quality parts that meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Inspect parts and fine-tune to ensure consistent quality throughout production runs.
- Program and set up machines to produce first article parts.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling to maximize machine uptime.
- Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining tasks.
- Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Monitor feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems to ensure consistent accuracy in daily work.
- Understand and properly use job-related measuring devices.
- Perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and carrying objects (up to 35 lbs).
- Work in environments subject to high temperatures, chemicals, and loud noises, while following safety protocols (e.g., wearing eye protection and gloves).
