We are looking for a highly skilled and meticulous Printing Maintenance Engineer. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is essential in maintaining the functionality of our printing machinery and associated systems. You will oversee routine equipment upkeep, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, ensure consistent print quality through machine calibration, and manage spare parts inventory. Additionally, you will support operators with technical guidance and collaborate with vendors for repairs when necessary. Your expertise will be key to reducing downtime and ensuring smooth production processes.
Key Duties :
Routine Maintenance :
Perform scheduled maintenance on printing presses, including cleaning, lubrication, and system checks.
Monitor consumable supplies and paper feed systems to avoid disruptions.
Adjust and calibrate machinery to ensure consistent print quality, while overseeing electrical and mechanical systems.
Troubleshooting & Repairs :
Diagnose and repair issues across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Replace defective components and efficiently analyze error codes to resolve malfunctions.
Inventory Management :
Oversee the inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring proper stock levels and timely ordering.
Track part usage and optimize inventory management for efficiency.
Technical Assistance :
Provide training to operators on press maintenance and troubleshooting.
Work closely with production teams to maximize equipment performance and resolve operational challenges.
Documentation & Reporting :
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
Create performance reports and document troubleshooting actions for future reference.
Safety & Compliance :
Foster a safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols.
Participate in safety committees and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Required Skills and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience with troubleshooting and repairing printing press mechanics, electrical systems, and pneumatic controls.
Minimum of 5 years of experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments for equipment maintenance.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working with FDA regulations and cGMP requirements, particularly in food contact scenarios.
At least 5 years of experience providing technical support and collaborating with production teams in a manufacturing or printing environment.
Over 5 years of experience maintaining safety standards and ensuring regulatory compliance in an industrial setting.
At least 3 years of experience managing parts inventory, including the ordering and control of spare parts.
Desirable Skills and Experience :
More than 10 years of experience in the printing sector, focusing on both equipment and materials.
At least 1 year of experience training operators on press maintenance.
1 years of experience liaising with vendors for repairs and part sourcing.
Experience in generating reports and documenting equipment performance and troubleshooting.
Other Information :
This role primarily works during the day shift but may require occasional evening or weekend availability.
The position is 100% on-site.
Occasional travel may be necessary for vendor support or training purposes.
