Benefis Health System?has an opportunity for a board-certified Internal Medicine physician to join the hospitalist group serving our academic community hospital in Great Falls, Montana. In addition to patient care, our mission is to provide?education and supervision to internal medicine residents and medical students alike. Our robust system has a level II trauma designation and offers a wide variety of patients and pathology, collaborative teams, great specialty support, competitive compensation and benefits and scheduling?that accommodates an adventurous Montana lifestyle!
Position Details
- Reasonable patient load with a target?start of day census of 15 patients to allow for good medical practice and collaboration with colleagues
- 12 hr shifts, 7 on / 7 off block schedule, typically days, Wed-Tues, working in a team of 7 physicians and 2?nurse practitioners. A swing / admitter physician (11a-9p) assists with afternoon admissions. Night coverage is provided by 1 physician and 1 APP from 7p-7a.?
- Cover only 1 hospital with 349 acute care beds, admitting medical and surgical patients 16 years of age and older (adult), excluding obstetrical and providing medical coordination and inpatient utilization management for surgical patients
- Great access to specialists with over 380 providers on our medical staff representing 40 specialties, including : Neurosurgery, CVT Surgery, Interventional and General Cardiology, General Surgery, Urology, Neurology, Nephrology, Orthopedics, Inpatient Gastroenterology, Psychiatry, and more!
- Epic EMR
- Procedures optional with privileging and no ICU coverage required (intensivists are in house 24 / 7 for consultation)
- Oversight of Internal Medicine?Residents is expected with additional opportunity to teach medical students.
