The Leave and Disability Specialist provides administrative services to Nebraska Medicine's Human Resources department and employees, as well as BCInsourcing’s internal staff. Responsibilities include employee support and various client-specific administrative duties with a specialized focus on Leave of Absence and Disability.
Location: This position will support Nebraska Medicine. It is remote, but you must live in the Omaha, NE, or Kansas City, MO, area to be considered.

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. BCInsourcing takes into consideration a combination of the selected candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, licensure, and other job-related reasons as it relates to the position. At our Company, generally an individual would not be hired at the top of the range of the role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each posting.

Essential Functions
- Develop a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of Nebraska Medicine's employer-sponsored leave of absence, including FMLA, military leave, and personal leave. Provides a variety of leave of absence administrative services following the client’s related programs and policies. Duties include the administration and support of leave of absence management and enrollment, leave and payment tracking, payroll preparation, vendor billing, and adherence to the client’s varied programs.
- Develops a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of the client’s employer-sponsored disability and voluntary plans; responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely manner; investigates and resolves benefit-related concerns, including enrollment, deduction, billing, and claims issues; supports the benefits contact center, as assigned.
- Develop a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of the client’s HRIS system processes and functionality.
- Serves as a front-line liaison between the client’s HR department, employees, BCInsourcing, and benefit carriers; specializes in employee service and support of Leaves of Absence, disability and voluntary programs.
- Investigate and self-resolves leave and benefit-related concerns, including payroll, billing, and claim issues.
- Responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Creates and maintains a proactive environment by promptly coordinating with Nebraska Medicine Benefits & Well-being team and other appropriate parties when recognizing an accelerated issue or unusual matter to collectively provide solutions and ensure it is resolved thoroughly and accurately.
- Performs other duties as requested by BCInsourcing.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent and/or related work experience demonstrating subject matter expert knowledge of varied leaves of absence including FMLA, parental leave, and short-term disability administration.
- Professional user experience operating in an HRIS payroll/benefit/leaves management system.
- Proven experience operating in Microsoft Excel to include such things as sorting/filter, pivot tables and creating formulas.
- Demonstrate polished articulate verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional problem-solving skill set operating with limited supervision.
- Demonstrate a clear ability to adhere to a step-by-step process while using deductive reasoning to produce positive outcomes.
- Higher education or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related field
- Workday/UKG timekeeping experience, preferred.
