Benesch is proud to announce the opening for a Legal Assistant in our San Francisco office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.
Position Summary:
Our San Fran office has an amazing opportunity for a Legal Assistant who is looking to be part of a dynamic team that includes the Partner-in-Charge. This role is perfect for the senior level legal assistant who is looking to work in a cutting-edge office of one of the nation's fastest growing law firms and assist litigators in an energetic, fast-paced environment.
The Legal Assistant plays a key role in providing senior level support to their assigned attorneys as well as being the right hand to the Partner-in-Charge, with all matters including coordinating travel, calendaring, preparing and creating attorney bills and other support needs.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and manages the complex and ever-changing schedule of their assignment which includes but is not limited to, meetings, appointments, and deliverables.
- Independently receives, prepares, reviews, drafts, and appropriately handles all incoming and outgoing correspondence including phone calls, e-mails, meeting confirmations, verbal and written correspondence and legal documents in an accurate, efficient, effective, and professional manner
- Communicates properly and promptly with BFCA personnel and external contacts at all times and must exhibit a high level of customer service.
- Arranges, coordinates, and oversees all travel needs assuring optimal time management and timely arrival to all appointments.
- Processes complex expense reports timely and accurately using the Firm's expense reporting software.
- Opens, develops, and maintains well-organized client files, resource materials, and administrative files.
- Handles timekeeping and billing activities by generating a first draft of weekly time entries for review and edits.
- Handles pre-bill reviews for weekly billable activity to ensure uniformity with client outside counsel guidelines and client preferences.
- Serves as a professional liaison between the Executive Committee, Partners, Firm Management, and external contacts.
- Manages all details of applicable legal practice areas inclusive of handling complex e-filings in both state and federal courts.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with internal and external clients to deliver a high level of customer service, consistent with the Firm's "First in Service" philosophy.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Due to the nature of your employment, various documents and information, which are of a confidential nature, will come into your possession. Such documents and information must be kept confidential at all times.
Qualifications:
Legal Assistants must have a High School Diploma. An Associate's Degree from a professional legal/business school or equivalent is desirable. A minimum of 7 years litigation legal experience supporting a Managing Partner, Practice Group Chair or Equity Partner is required. Solid experience with federal and state filings is a must. The Legal Assistant must have experience with high-level stakeholders. Comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with InTapp Time, Intapp Open, Chrome River Expense Reporting, Aderant, Interaction, iManage are pluses. Must possess an excellent customer service attitude. Must be able to handle multiple priorities at one time, work well with others and have excellent communication skills.
The salary range for this position is $95K to $125K
Please note that quoted salary ranges are based on Benesch's reasonable expectations at the time of the job posting and are not a guarantee of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full-time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
